The B-DLNM methodology enables the analysis of complex, time-dependent exposure-response relationships using a flexible Bayesian framework. The bdlnm package makes this approach accessible to researchers through a user-friendly implementation.
IGTP took part in the 2026 edition of MWC and 4YFN with professionals and spin-offs from the institute, showcasing projects in health innovation and strengthening its role in connecting biomedical research with companies, investors and institutions to advance technologies with potential clinical and societal impact.
The Escoles Sentinella project, coordinated by the CEEISCAT Group at IGTP, presented the main results of its fifth and final academic year. This initiative has shown that the network is viable and generates relevant scientific evidence on school health through collaboration between schools, researchers and public institutions.
IGTP has launched the European project TB-SPECTRUM, funded under the Horizon Europe programme through the MSCA Staff Exchanges scheme and coordinated by IGTP. A kick-off meeting held online brought together researchers, clinicians, and representatives from academic and non-academic institutions across Europe, Africa, and the United States, alongside members of the project's External Scientific and Ethics Advisory Boards.
The 2025 call for grants has funded 15 projects. One of them, led by the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions and involving the participation of IGTP, is called SuperCAP and focuses on improving the quality of life of people affected by long COVID.
The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute has secured €13,208,000 through several funding calls supporting research projects and research activity, the results of which were announced this December, including both Spanish and Catalan-level calls.
The closing event celebrated on 17 November highlighted the work carried out and strengthened the commitment to maintain and expand the synergies created within the framework of the Plan. IGTP has contributed to several collaborative projects, focused on type 2 diabetes, breast cancer and medical databases.
The Talents Grants for the 2024 and 2025 editions have been granted by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, supporting healthcare professionals in developing research projects that will lead to their doctoral theses. This initiative, originally created through a collaboration with the Research Institute and Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, now also includes Hospital Clínic Barcelona, the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology and Hospital de Bellvitge.
The unit will address the prevention, detection, assessment and management of diseases and environmental risks that may affect children and adolescents. Through its Research Institute, the Hospital is also leading an international study in Spain to reduce children's exposure to endocrine disruptors and assess their impact on child health.
A new study provides a powerful way to study infections in environments that closely mimic human organs. The strategy, tested in a bone-marrow-on-chip model, was developed by researchers from ISGlobal, IGTP, I3S at Porto University, and IN2UB, as part of the HIDDENVIVAX project, funded by "la Caixa" Foundation.
