Immuno-PET methodology for the study of type 2 diabetes
Dr J. Raul Herance
Head of the Molecular Medical Imaging Group at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR)
Host: Immunotherapy node - CARE program
Date and time: | 14:30-15:30
Venue: Sala Polivalent, IGTP Mar and online
Lecture by Dr J. Raul Herance, Head of the Molecular Medical Imaging Group at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), a leading researcher in the field of molecular imaging applied to personalised medicine. Dr Herance has been a pioneer in the development and application of an innovative Immuno-PET methodology based on PET/CT with 18F-FDG to assess myocardial insulin resistance in vivo and its relationship with cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes. He is currently involved in several research lines in the field of cancer.
This approach enables highly precise patient phenotyping, correlating metabolic alterations and opening new avenues for the application of molecular imaging in the study of complex processes. The technique presented is particularly promising for translational studies in immunology and cancer, where the metabolic and functional characterisation of tissues is key.
This talk will be delivered in English or Spanish.
